Without even dancing well, a man who has the confidence to get on the dance floor is way ahead of his peers, I’d say 40-60% of men at clubs never have the balls to step on the dance floor. So if you’re out there, you’re already way ahead of those dudes with their back on the walls clutching their drinks. (What is this -middle school?) Now I’m not here to judge, I’m here to help and am just sharing my experience.
What I noticed works best for me, and when I see the biggest improvements in whatever I’m doing (Dancing, Martial Arts, working out) is if I have inspiration and competition. Whenever I feel like I’m the best at something I become very complacent. However when I see say an amazing dancer in dance class, or on my dance company, I get inspired to improve.
Don’t look at someone’s amazing talent or skill and say “I’ll never be able to be like that”. Instead say, “I want to be as good as him/her”, and know that with work you will make more amazing progress than you would ever imagine.
I’ve received many comments on my youtube.com/ClubDanceLessons Channel where people say dancing is something you have naturally or you don’t… and that you can’t learn to have rhythm and feel the groove.
These comments are complete BULLSHIT. Rhythm CAN be learned, and ANYONE can improve their body control and coordination. In 10 years of teaching I’ve seen hundreds of the most uncoordinated people in the world and I can honestly say every single one of them improved.
As I mentioned previously in “Biggest Roadblock to Growth” our ego’s often prevent us from learning and growing because people naturally don’t want to look stupid. This is understandable but I’ve learned in life that growing pains are unavoidable. Those who have the least fear of looking silly will learn the fastest. These are people willing to mess up constantly in order to surmount the learning curve and achieve their goals.
YES, it’s ok to have a Boner when dancing with girls! It’s your bodies natural reaction to stimulation so be comfortable and confident!
The most common question students ask is: “How long will it take me to get good dancing?”. My answer is : “It depends on how good you are now, how fast you learn, how much you want to learn, how often you take lessons, and how much you practice on your own.
An ideal schedule for learning (night club) dance is
It takes much more than just looks and money to make a man attractive to women. In fact often times you don’t need looks or money to be successful with women. Haven’t you ever seen really ugly dudes with super hot girls? Or hot girls with broke ass guys who drive a hoopty or maybe don’t have a car or job at all?
He mentioned the biggest reason men don’t improve with women is their ego. I couldn’t agree more, and I believe that this applies to anything we want to improve on in life whether it be relationships, weight loss, learning how to dance or any new hobby.
Our ego tries to keep us safe and content. To keep us safe often times it discourages us from trying new things and making changes in our lives. It keeps you from trying new things and from looking bad which is a vicious cycle because if you don’t try new things you’ll never grow and you won’t look bad but you also will never look good. It encourages us to keep doing what we’ve been doing forever. You might have heard the saying, “if you keep on doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep on getting what you’ve always got.”
